First Teaser Trailer For “Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One”

1375146788

Today at Star Wars Celebration it was revealed that the upcoming “Star Wars” spinoff movies will be classified and called “Star Wars Anthology” films and the very first one is officially titled “Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One.”

Official synopsis for “Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One”:

A band of resistance fighters unite for a daring mission to steal the Death Star plans in Star Wars Anthology film, Rogue One.

The director of “Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One,” Gareth Edwards (“Godzilla”), had a few words to say about the upcoming movie:

“It’s about the fact that god’s not coming to save us, and we’re on our own,” said Edwards. “The absence of the Jedi is omnipresent in the film. It hangs over the whole movie.”

So far, neither Disney or Lucasfilm has released the official teaser trailer for “Rogue One.” I’ll update this article with the official teaser trailer when it is officially released. Until then, this is the best video that I could find:

Disney Infinity 3.0 Star Wars Edition First Product Photo

It appears all the talk that Disney Infinity 3.0 will include a Star Wars theme, may be true after all. The German electronics website Saturn has posted (and has since pulled) a pre-order for the Disney Infinity 3.0 Star Wars starter set for the Nintendo Wii U, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 consoles. And the best part… a release date of August 20th, 2015!

starwars_infinity_30

The photo that went with the listing shows what looks to be legitimate packaging for the starter set, along with a play set piece, infinity figures and game disc box. The look of this packaging, with a black theme, seems to compare to some leaked photos of Disney Infinity 3.0 Originals figures of Mickey, Minnie, Mulan and others last week.

This photo can be both exciting and polarizing for Star Wars fans as the figures are that of Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano from the prequel/Clone Wars era. The style of all the characters seems to have a Clone Wars animated series feel to it. Other notables seen on the box art include Obi-Wan, Princess Leia, C-3PO, R2-D2, Yoda and Vader. We can also see vehicles and mounts such as pod racers and a Tauntaun!

Star Wars day is right around the corner… will we learn more about this soon?

The Second “Star Wars Antholgy” Film Delayed Till 2019; Director Josh Trank Fired

fdfddfdf

Josh Trank (“Chronicle”) was let go by Disney and Lucasfilm as the director of the second “Star Wars Anthology” film. The result of him being dropped means that there will be no “Star Wars” film in 2018. Disney originally planned to release a Star Wars film ever year beginning with “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”

Recently Josh Trank was scheduled to be a guest speaker at a Star Wars Celebration panel to discuss his upcoming Star Wars spinoff movie but was a no show. Attendees were told that Trank was suffering from the flu but a lot of people speculated that something was up. Variety has indeed confirm that Trank was let go by Disney and Lucasfilm.

The Hollywood Reporter says that most of this stems from Trank’s antics on the set of his movie, “Fantastic Four.” Trank was described by some as being erratic and very isolated and would not respond to questions on the set and resorted to hiding at times. He also rented a house in New Orleans while filming Fantastic Four and caused over $100,000 worth of damage to the house.

It does appear that Trank’s mild success from filming the movie “Chronicle” has gone to his head and both Disney and Lucasfilm were worried to hand over a Star Wars film to him.

PHOTOS: The “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” Vanity Fair Photo Shoot; VIDEO: Behind The Scenes

On the cover of the June issue of Vanity Fair, photographed by Annie Leibovitz, Han Solo (Harrison Ford) re-unites with his trusty co-pilot Chewbacca, and is joined by some new faces: Rey (Daisy Ridley), Finn (John Boyega), and a little droid who goes by the name of BB-8.

VanityFair.com has released online a preview of the upcoming issue which finally reveals that Adam Driver will be playing Kylo Ren. Prior to this, it was just assumed that Driver was Kylo Ren. They also reveal that Lupita Nyong’o’s is indeed a CGI character and she will be playing Maz Kanata, some kind of space pirate. They also hint that the reason why we have yet to hear Daisy Ridley’s character’s Rey’s last name is because it is a familiar name, either Skywalker or Solo.

Vanity Fair has also released a behind the scenes video of the special Star Wars photo shoot by Annie Leibovitz.

This Vanity Fair issue will be available digitally on May 7th and through newsstands on May12th.

The next trailer for “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” will make its premier on April 16th to attendees at Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim, CA.

When will we see it? Disney hasn’t said anything other than it will be attached to “Avengers: Age Of Ultron” but I have a feeling that we may see the trailer shortly after it premiers at Star Wars Celebration. “Avengers: Age Of Ultron” open in the US on May 1st but will open in Europe on April 22nd.  Expect to see something appear online during the fourth week of April or possibly during the weekend of Celebration.

Last year, MakingStarWars.com posted the description of “The Force Awakens” teaser before it debuted and they were spot on. Now Making Star Wars has information as to what we will see in the newest trailer for “The Force Awakens.”

  • The teaser runs at about one minute and fifty seconds, just under two minutes.
  • Han, Leia, Artoo and Threepio.
  • We do see Yavin in the teaser.
  • We see a shot of Finn with a blue lightsaber.
  • There is a shot of Captain Phasma (Gwendoline Christie), the chrome Stormtrooper, very briefly.
  • We do see Kylo Ren’s helmeted face.
  • We see Poe Dameron shoot down a TIE fighter.
  • A shot of Finn and Poe walking past one another at the base.
  • Rey is in a few shots.
  • There is a shot of Poe Dameron, Artoo-Detoo, See-Threepio, and a CGI character (Rose).
  • BB-8 socketed in the back of an X-wing.
  • Kylo Ren’s Imperial shuttle flies by with TIE escorts to the Star Destroyer (it is the one MakingStarWars.net wrote about).
  • Star Destroyer(s).
  • The Falcon.
  •  X-wing fighters flying in a V-shape formation.
  • Darth Vader’s helmet sitting on a podium.
  • No Serkis.
  • No Luke.

Is This Our First Look at Charlie Cox as “Daredevil” in His Red Costume?

0tmX52a

A promotional photo of what appears to be Charlie Cox in the red “Daredevil” costume recently hit the net. We still are not sure if this is official or fan-made but to me this looks pretty damn good. I’m hoping this is real but it’s not official until we get confirmation from Netflix, Marvel or Disney.

Blinded as a young boy but imbued with extraordinary senses, Matt Murdock fights against injustice by day as a lawyer, and by night as the Super Hero ‘Daredevil’ in modern day Hell’s Kitchen, New York City.

Marvel’s “Daredevil” premiers this Friday, April 10th on Netflix!

*UPDATE: It’s real! Marvel just released this new motion trailer with the red suit!

The “Fantastic Four”…. No More

Fantastic_Four_645_Cover

Marvel recently revealed the cover for issue #645 of the Fantastic Four and what makes this significant is that this is the final issue of the Fantastic Four. This is clearly a shout out to Fox that they are cancelling the series because of Fox’s upcoming reboot movie of the “Fantastic Four”. Just compare the comic book cover with the official movie poster for Fox’s “Fantastic Four” and you can see that Marvel is making a statement as to who is responsible for the death of the Fantastic Four. Although Marvel has never officially said this, it is obvious that they don’t want to provide any free marketing for Fox’s Fantastic Four movie. I am sure the Fantastic Four will be back in the comics after the release of the movie on home video.

RUMOR: Will Han Shoot Greedo First Tomorrow in the Digital Release of “Star Wars: A New Hope?”

Han-Solo-Star-Wars-Episode-7

According to BadAssDigest.com, those purchasing the digital version of “Star Wars: A New Hope” may be in for a very pleasant surprise.

From BadAssDigest:

If my sources are correct – and we’ll know in about 24 hours – Han will now shoot first in this edition of Star Wars. It’s probably one of the most egregious changes made to the Original Trilogy (and a lot of those changes were egregious) and now, almost two decades after it was included in the Special Edition, it will be gone.

The author says that a number of people have confirmed this to be true to him, but like us, he wont believe it till he sees it.

If this does come true this could be a very good sign that we will eventually see  the unaltered versions of The Original “Star Wars” Trilogy. Bye bye Hayden Christensen!

We wont know for sure until midnight if this is true or not but for now we have “a new hope”…for a few hours.

Source: Bad Ass Digest

*Update – Bad Ass Digest has just updated their story and they are confirming that Han still does not shoot first, based on people who already have purchased the digital versions in Australia.

They are now reporting that there is a 4K remastered version of “A New Hope” that is in the works, or possibly completed, that shows Han shooting first in that version.

There is a 4k remaster of A New Hope. In this 4k remaster, which includes tweaks and small changes, the Han/Greedo scene is altered. The 4k remaster is not what is being used for the digital editions. The existence of the 4k remasters have been known for a while – they were reported in June of last year – but which version was being remastered wasn’t exactly clear. It seems like the 4k remaster is still being held back for… something. A rerelease timed with The Force Awakens? A 40th anniversary rerelease right before Episode VIII? A new box set tied to the release of The Force Awakens?

Only time will tell if this new story is true but I think it is a no-brainier that 4K remasters are being worked on and they will probably be released this year or early next year to coincide with the theatrical release of “The Force Awakens”. And with Disney announcing the release of the digital version of the “Star Wars Saga” just 4 days before their official release, nothing would surprise me anymore.

Disney Extends Ban On Smoking In Films to Include Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars

JabbaHookah-ROTJ1-680x390

During Disney’s annual shareholder meeting, Bob Iger announced that Disney will absolutely prohibit the use of a character smoking in all of its films rated PG-13 and below. The only exception will be the portrayal of a historical character who smoked. This rule will apply to all Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars films.

Bob Iger:

“We are extending our policy to prohibit smoking in movies across the board. In terms of any new characters that are created for any of those films, under any of those labels, we will absolutely prohibit smoking in any of those films. Except when we are depicting a historical figure who may have smoked at the time. For instance, we’ve been doing a movie on Abraham Lincoln, he was a smoker, and we would consider that acceptable.”“I thought it was the right thing for us to do,” he said about the decision — which he says he made over the last 48 hours prior to the shareholders meeting.
