RoE: Star Wars Series 4

Star Wars series 4 is set for a 2014 release. All we got at RoE was the box art.

It is a Snowtrooper, but we already had an Empire Strikes Back set. Maybe we get a second one on the new Mickey platform for uniformity? Or maybe it will all be centered on characters on Hoth? Or, as MC predicts, maybe it is an entire Stormtrooper set!!! You want armies!!?? We will give you armies!

John Williams Will Score Star Wars Episode VII

I called it back in April during the Star Trek: Into Darkness Press Conference but now it’s official that John Williams will return to score the soundtracks for Star Wars Episode VII, VIII, and IX.

Williams, whose career spans over six decades, has won five Academy Awards and has scored some of the most popular and critically acclaimed films of all time, including Jaws, the Indiana Jones series, E.T. The Extra TerrestrialLincoln, and countless others.

The composer joins a growing list of all-star creators including director J.J. Abrams, screenwriter Michael Arndt, and consultants Lawrence Kasdan and Simon Kinberg, who are shaping Star Wars: Episode VII, now set for a 2015 release.

Watch StarWars.com’s new interview with Williams below, where he discusses composing the music for Star Wars: Episode VII, working with Kathleen Kennedy and J.J. Abrams, and why he’s excited about returning to a galaxy far, far away.

“May The Fourth Be With You” Limited Time Magic At Disney’s Hollywood Studios

For a long time, Star Wars fans have proclaimed May 4th as “May the Fourth be with you” and so this year Disney is playing on that term and using it as a Limited Time Magic offering over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. For one day only, May 4th 2013, Disney will host an event separate from Star Wars Weekends called “May The Fourth Be With You”. What can we expect from this? Lets take a look.

On May 4th you’ll find special Star Wars characters, merchandise, a Star Wars dance party, and to top it all off… a special Star Wars themed Fireworks Show. Characters will also be making appearances around Star Tours: The Adventures Continue and if you are lucky enough, you’ll get to ride with some of them on the attraction. (Wouldn’t it be cool if you could ride Star Tours with Chewbacca?)

A special edition of Star Wars Jedi Academy will be performed on May 4th and this time, Disney invites the parents to take the stage with the kids to be part of the fun and help battle the Empire. As soon as the sun goes down, join Lobot as DJ for the biggest dance party and fireworks spectacular in the galaxy.

All this will be part of your regular park admission, all you have to do is show up at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on May 4th 2013 and get ready to have fun!

WDW 4/30 Trade Night Previews

So, I was wrong. The WDW trade night at the ESPN Wide World of Sports was by all accounts a success. Lots of space and trading tables lining the halls. Pin traders found some great pins from CMs. Also, plenty of previews of Vinylmation, Pins and Star Wars Weekends merchandise. You can find the Pin previews at OnceUponaPin.com and the Star Wars previews at JediKingdom.com. The vinyl previews were impressive, however nothing we hadn’t seen elsewhere. However, this was the first time collectors had the chance to see them in person.
