Hong Kong Disneyland Ticket Prices Increase Today

Effective December 15, 2017, ticket prices for Hong Kong Disneyland have increased between 4% to 9%, according to the South China Morning Post. It’s the fifth annual price increase at the resort.

Prices for one-day admission are now HK$619 (US $79.24) for adults and HK$458 (US $58.63) for children, up from HK$589 (US $75.40) and HK$419 (US $53.64), respectively.

The regular two-day admission price has increased to HK$799/HK$589 (US $102.26/$75.38), from HK$759/HK$539 (US $97.14/$68.96). (U.S. dollar rates are based on current exchange rates.)

Guests visiting through the end of this year can take advantage of special discounts, however. The resort is currently offering a special “Play and Shop 1-Day Ticket Offer” for the old prices (HK$589/HK$419) that includes a HK$50 (US $6.40) merchandise gift voucher and a buy-one get-one popcorn voucher. According to the Hong Kong Disneyland website, tourists visiting Hong Kong, excluding residents of Mainland China and Macau, are eligible for the special offer. There’s also a special “Discounted ‘2-Day Fun’ Ticket” for HK$649/HK$461 (US $83.06/$59.00) available through Dec. 31, with no listed restrictions on guest eligibility.

Annual pass prices have increased as well. However, Hong Kong residents who purchase three or more annual passes will receive a 15% discount through April 10, 2018.

The 30% discount for Hong Kong residents with disabilities remains in place. The price for seniors (age 65 and over) remains at HK$100 (US $12.80) for one-day and HK$170 (US $21.76) for two-day admission.

The South China Morning Post also reported that annual passholders who renew early can get a 20% discount, and Hong Kong residents can continue to purchase regular one-day admissions at the previous prices through February 15, 2018. These pricing exceptions are not listed on the Hong Kong Disneyland website.

The price increase comes just two days after Hong Kong Disneyland’s major rival park, Ocean Park, announced it would increase admission by 9% effective January 1, 2018. Both Hong Kong Disneyland and Ocean Park have been operating at deficits.

It also comes just a few weeks after Hong Kong Disneyland announced it would be ending its nightly “Disney in the Stars” fireworks show as of January 1 and beginning a major renovation of its castle beginning in early January. Those changes are part of the resort’s multi-year development plan announced last November, which also includes a new Frozen-themed land and new Marvel attractions.

Shanghai Disneyland also recently announced a price increase effective June 6, 2018. Hong Kong Disneyland’s tickets are the most expensive of the three Disney resorts in Asia.

Ticket Prices for Shanghai Disneyland Will Increase in June 2018

Effective June 6, 2018, ticket prices for Shanghai Disneyland will increase and a third tier, Peak Holiday, will be added to the pricing structure. Admission prices are currently based on only two tiers, Regular and Peak.  The price increases are set to take effect shortly after the opening of the new Toy Story Land area of the park on April 26, 2018.

Regular admission will increase to 399 RMB (approximately $58 dollars) from 370 RMB (approximately $53.70). Peak admission is charged during periods of high demand, including summer holidays, weekends, and many designated holidays. Peak admission will increase to 575 RMB (approximately $83.50) from 499 RMB (approximately $72.50). The current prices remain in effect through June 5, 2018.

The new Peak Holiday tier is reserved for the Chinese New Year and China National Day holiday periods, and will be set at 665 RMB, or approximately $96.50. (U.S. dollar rates are based on current exchange rates.)

The current 25% discount for children (above 1.0 meter to 1.4 meters), seniors age 65 and older, and guest with disabilities, will remain in place. Infants (children 1.0 meter or below) will continue to receive free admission.

Tickets for admission to Shanghai Disneyland are currently, and will continue to be, date-specific and valid only for the date purchased.

Walt Disney World Ticket Price Increase Coming; Water Park-Hopper Option Being Added; “No Expiration” to be Discontinued

To no one’s surprise, Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort ticket prices are expected to see a small increase again in mid-February 2015. No exact pricing could be obtained yet, but some interesting changes coming to tickets were discovered.

A Water Park-Hopper ticket add-on will be introduced. At the very least, this will be an option for single-day water park tickets, but it may also be available as an add-on for other tickets as well.

The largest change will be the discontinuation of the “no expiration” ticket option, which allows you to keep an unused days on your Disney Parks tickets. Obviously, those who already have this option on a ticket will still have them honored, but the option will no longer be given to guests come next month.

We will provide more information on these ticket changes as they become available.

Ticket Prices Increasing at Disneyland

From Erin Glover of the Disney Parks Blog:

As we have done in the past, we wanted to give our loyal Disney Parks Blog readers a heads-up that ticket prices at the Disneyland Resort will be increasing, starting on May 20. This summer is one of the most anticipated times in the resort’s history, and a visit to the Disneyland Resort has never been a better value. In the past few years alone, we’ve added new world-class attractions, such as The Little Mermaid ~ Ariel’s Undersea Adventure, “World of Color” and Star Tours: The Adventures Continue. Now, with the expansion of Disney California Adventure park, including the 12-acre Cars LandBuena Vista Street and the Carthay Circle Restaurant, almost complete, there are even more reasons to visit.

And this summer, both parks will open each day at 8 a.m. and offer increased entertainment, giving you and your family more time to stay and play. At Disney California Adventure park, we’re adding an additional showing of “Aladdin – a Musical Spectacular” and Pixar Play Parade will be presented up to twice daily. At Disneyland park, you’ll find more shows and characters at Big Thunder Ranch Jamboree and increased performances at the Tomorrowland Terrace every day of the week, and the singing sensation “Voices of Liberty” performing at the Main Street Opera House.

We’re sharing the details here on the ticket prices, which also include increases to Disneyland Resort Annual Passports. Annual Passholders recognize that their investment pays for itself after just a few visits. Our California-based Annual Passholders have the added benefit and flexibility of a monthly payment program. This year, we’ll continue to offer unique passholder-exclusive entertainment and experiences, along with 10-20% discounts on select food and merchandise. As an example, you already know that Annual Passholders were invited to special viewings to celebrate the 20th anniversary of “Fantasmic!” And later this summer, Passholders also will have early access to the parks through a new Annual Passholder Early Entry program – just for them. Details on this program were announced earlier this week here.

There are other ways to save when you visit. The popular 1-Day Park Hopper Ticket gives guests access to both parks on the same day, or if you are planning on playing with us longer, multi-day tickets also offer a variety of options for you to save on your California vacation. All updated pricing can be found here. The information will also be available at http://disneyland.disney.go.com/tickets on May 20.
