Vinylmation Speculation: Disneyland Paris Mystery Set

As you probably know by now, Disney has set up a new Vinylmation website for France, www.Vinylmation.fr. And today, they even updated to a third teaser image. If the rumor is true, we will soon see the announcement of a 12 figure mystery box set based on Disneyland Paris. If you are like us, you can’t wait for the actual announcment. And since we have never visited DLP, we asked a big fan of the park to speculate on what she thinks would make some great look vinyls for this set. Enjoy this article by Lindsey and let us know your ideas.

This list has beeen created based on things that I feel best represent Disneyland Paris for both uniqueness as well as being special. Some things may be quiet obscure but I wanted to focus on things that make the park different to the other Disney Parks worldwide. These are also things that I personally enjoy whenever I visit DLP.

1- Disney & Co Boutique Organ

This Organ has now been moved from its home in Disneyland Paris and will be going to WDW for the new Dumbo area in Fantasyland.

2- Alice’s Curious Maze

Photo from DLP.info

We already have a themed set of Alice, but a Vinylmation of this attraction would be justified as it’s unique to Disneyland Paris.

3- Phantom Manor

Now they have confirmed that the Phantom himself would be appearing in an upcoming Park set. But I think one based on the attraction or the building itself would be welcome.

4- Annette’s Diner

A bit more obscure as its actually in the Disney Village next to the park, but it’s become such a famous location that it deserves a place in this line up. It should Feature a waitresses on Rollerskates!

5- Indiana Jones et le Temple De Peril

Photo from DLP.info

This is a themed rollercoaster and the first Disney ride anywhere to feature a 360 loop (opened in 1993). So I think something themed to this ride would do well. Also, who doesn’t love Indy?

6- Skull Island

Photo from DLP.info

This is a big rock statue based on the iconic island from Peter Pan and think it would make a cool Vinylmation.

7- La Taniere Du Dragon

Photo from DLP.info

Though the famous Dragon from Sleeping Beauty should be on the rumoured 9”, this encounter with the sleeping dragon found at DLP is a worthy contender. The dragon is sleeping but he also awakens and blows smoke so this would be great as a Varient!

8- Videopolis Theatre (Hyperion)

This is a huge Airship which housed a stage for various productions. Now it just shows Disney shorts, but this iconic design deserves a Vinyl.

9- The Timekeeper (Le Visionarium)

Copyright Disney

This attraction was there from the park opening in 1992 until it was replaced by Buzz Lightyear. It was the first ‘Euro Disney’ attraction to be re-made at another Disney park (it later showed up at Magic Kingdom).

10- Moteurs… Action!

This stunt show has also made it over to America (at Disney’s Hollywood Studios) and I think it will be a fun Vinyl.

11- Cinemagique

I love this show I have to see it every time we visit and normally more than once every time we visit. This unique 4D mixes live action with video. The show goes through different movies where Martin Short is skipping through the decades of movies. It is exclusive to Disneyland Paris and I think it would be nice to pay homage to it. A Martin Short Vinylmation maybe….

12- Crush’s Coaster

This spinning rollercoaster ride were the ride vehicle is a Shell with 2 front facing and 2 back facing seats, is based on Finding Nemo and is another Disneyland Paris exclusive. It is still one of the park’s busiest rides!

13- Discovery Arcade

Photo from DLP.info

This is set behind the shops on Main Street and fits in really well. It has a lot of historic inventions and artwork. It is also a lovely place to stop and eat in the colder months. It is stunning to look at.

Vinylmation Speculation with Mike Boon: Muppets 4.10 Sal Minella

SAL MINELLA
Muppets Tonight (1996)
Originally performed by: Brian Henson

Sal is the loud-mouthed and hot-tempered bodyguard of Johnny Fiama, who first appeared on Muppets Tonight before making his way to other productions like Muppets From Space and The Muppets’ Wizard of Oz. Sal seems to think his primary purpose is to try to keep all of the attention on Johnny.

“Of the pair, I think Sal showed up in the Muppets, but Johnny did not. It’s a shame not to have them together, but Sal is still amusing by himself.”-MC

Vinylmation Speculation with Mike Boon: Muppets 4.9 Johnny Fiama

JOHNNY FIAMA
Muppets Tonight (1996)
Originally performed by: Bill Barretta

Johnny was the resident crooner on Muppets Tonight, a lounge singer in the vein of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and his idol Tony Bennett (with whom he once shared a duet). He later appeared in It’s a Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie and The Muppets’ Wizard of Oz.

“I really liked his version of Stuck in the Middle with You. Perfectly captured in this figure.”-MC

Vinylmation Speculation with Mike Boon: Muppets 4.7 Dr. Bob

DR. BOB (ROWLF)
The Muppet Show (1976)
Originally performed by: Jim Henson

Rowlf the Dog played Dr. Bob in the “Veterinarian’s Hospital” sketches from The Muppet Show alongside Nurse Janice and Nurse Piggy. A master at horrible puns and vaudeville-style jokes, Dr. Bob was often described as “a quack who has gone to the dogs.”

“I loved this sketch and was disappointed when I didn’t see it in the movie. Great looking figure, and there could always be a set with the two nurses. Or maybe even a LE set with the nurses, Bob, and a patient.”-MC

Vinylmation Speculation with Mike Boon: Muppets 4.6 Doglion

DOGLION
The Muppet Show (1977)
Originally performed by: Jerry Nelson

A whole slew of full-bodied monsters have been part of the Muppet family over the years, but Doglion has the honor of being the first Muppet to appear on screen in 1979’s The Muppet Movie.

“I never really knew the full sized monster, other then Sweetums. But While I watched the 2011 Muppet Movie they all really stood out. Such a cool addition to the Muppet family.”-M.C.

Vinylmation Speculation with Mike Boon: Muppets 4.5 Skeeter

SKEETER
Muppet Babies (1984)
Originally performed by: Howie Mandel

Scooter’s twin sister from Muppet Babies has never been seen in traditional puppet form. Here she is as an adult based on Amy Mebberson’s design from The Muppet Show Comic Book: Family Reunion (2010). I had originally envisioned Skeeter as the chaser for Series 4.

“Would have been a great chaser, perfect combination of well designed and unique super fan choice. I’d also like to see Disney try to create her glasses as an accessory. And then as an added bonus, paint the eyeballs on the accessory glasses!”-M.C.

Vinylmation Speculation with Mike Boon: Muppets 4.4 Clifford

CLIFFORD
The Jim Henson Hour (1989)
Originally performed by: Kevin Clash

This cool-cat Muppet with a laid-back persona, colorful dreadlocks and hip sunglasses first appeared as a bass player for the band Solid Foam on The Jim Henson Hour, but his most prominent role was as host of Muppets Tonight.

“Kevin Clash is also the original performer of Elmo. Love the sunglasses, but maybe they could be an accessory?”-M.C.

Vinylmation Speculation with Mike Boon: Muppets 4.3 Wanda

WANDA
The Muppet Show (1976)
Originally performed by: Eren Ozker

Wanda is half of the singing duo Wayne and Wanda, who have the distinction of being fired from The Muppet Show by Kermit himself. Wayne and Wanda had virtually disappeared from the Muppet universe before making recent appearances in The Muppets (2011) and an OK Go video.

“The flowers and stripes really complete this figure.”-M.C.

Vinylmation Speculation with Mike Boon: Muppets 4.2 Wayne

WAYNE
The Muppet Show (1976)
Originally performed by: Richard Hunt

The singing duo Wayne and Wanda was often praised by Sam the Eagle as being a wholesome act in a show full of weirdos, but the pair was often unable to make past the first verse of any song before reaching an inevitable moment of disaster.

“Another great use of ears. And a spiffy looking suit too!”-M.C.

Vinylmation Speculation with Mike Boon: Muppets 4.1 Gonzo the Great

Mike Boon is back again with another series of potential Muppet vinylmation. Continuing where we left off, we’ll showcase one design every day from Mike’s Muppet Series 4. Please let him (and us) know what you think of the designs. As we start the second Muppet series of speculation from Mike, we’d just like to thank him again for his hard work and his great designs! Thanks Mike!
THE GREAT GONZO
The Muppet Show (1976)
Originally performed by: Dave Goelz

The oddest character in the core Muppet cast, Gonzo has a tendency for horrible and wildly misguided acts that he believes are pure genius, not to mention a fondness for chickens. We’ve already seen Gonzo in his purple tux as a 9” vinyl, but here he is as the daredevil performance artist “The Great Gonzo.”

“Thank you! We need a 3″ Gonzo. Love the strands of hair in the left ear.”-M.C.
