Update 3/9/12 Thank you everyone here and on Facebook for the comments on these sneak peaks! Looks like the best guess to the mystery women is from Derek… Tomorrowland Space Women (can also do man variant).

3/7/12 The Disney Parks Blog just posted an interview with Disney Design Group and Vinylmation artist Thomas Scott. It was an interview focusing on the new John Carter Vinylmation, but we saw much more around the office than that. We brake it down for you, but the video itself, has great insight and pictures on how Vinylmation are designed. Take a look.
Ok, let’s dive in…
We have some pieces here they wanted us to see, what do you spot? Possible some Urban designs? Also, pink Park Starz Squid. Is this another variant? The stars top hat behind seems to be the Uncle Sam figure we are looking forward to near July 4th. How abut the women in the bubble helmet. This strikes me as a Park figure but I can’t quite place it.
Next up, we have our first real look at the upcoming Popcorn figures. Mickey in the foreground and Goofy in the right corner. Looks like the opposite of my speculation! These are larger than 3″ and even appear larger than Park Starz. Speaking of… are those 2 more Park Starz molds behind Mickey? If so, any character guesses?
Here is another look at Goofy. And then the John Carter vinyls…
Besides the new molds, that we already knew about, It appears Princess Deja has a cape accessory! Where was that for Star Wars?
And here is a closer look at Thark Jeddak Tars Tarkus’s arms.
The video also gave a glimpse into the work environment for Thomas Scott. Maybe showing some of his inspirations and for sure showing off a collection of his own Vinylmation work.

What is your take on the sneak peaks found in this video? Did you find others we didn’t spot?
Another Dublin exclusive Vinylmation has been released. Thanks again to @VM_Paris for pointing us to the photos on DQForum.com.
As you can see, it has a Leprechaun appearance. I enjoy this design much more than the 1st Dublin figure. Underneath the pulled down hat, the face looks similar to Mickey from Holiday 1.
The box is full of shamrocks
As mentioned, this is the second Dublin Disney Store exclusive. The first was a green figure covered in shamrocks.
The look of the Leprechaun is also reminiscent of the faceless Paris Disney Store exclusive released last month.
No word yet on price, but you should be able to locate it in the Dublin Disney Store. Will the new Dublin figure be lucky enough to make it into your collection?
Thanks to the Disney Showcase Key blog (on twitter @DShowcasekey), we now have word that the Paris 20th anniversary Vinylmation are on store shelves at DLP. Here is a look at the shelves at Harringtons, a store on Main Street in DLP.
The four 3″ figures are Goofy, Mickey, Minnie and Donald in DLP costumes. There also seem to be four different Jr Keychain combos each including a Disney character and a second figure with logos or symbols from the DLP 20th celebration.
VM_Paris just tweeted this picture to the world. After a French and Irish Big Hats, we speculated that we’d see the series of them from different locations. We also thought it would make a cool Beefeater from London. Well, here it is. Thanks VM_Paris!
What do you guys think of this one? Which one do you want the most? What other cities do you think will be Big Hat figures and what do you think they will be?
This picture was sent to us by VM_Paris. Paris is saying that robot two is out in France, and will e mix and match. Crazy! What do you think of this? How do you collect/trade these then? How Disney, How?
Originally, they were only available in Disney Stores, but on March 23rd the Tunes collection will be headed for D-Streets Florida and California. Well, the four that we’ve actually seen so far. Donald and Dale are still missing. Daisy, Goofy, Mickey, and Stitch will all be open boxed and cost $12.95 each.
Quick note: The price is as reported from the vinylmation.com. Originally these figures cost $9.95. The box has $9.95 printed on it, so I think it might be a typo on Disney’s part.
Update: 3/15/11 After a closer look it seems the feet are mixed up too. So each piece has a different set of arms, body, head, and feet.
After a day of waiting we finally have a look at the figures for Robots 2. Like we were told they will be mixed up. The question is, “How mixed up?” Are those 12 figures on top what their ideas of “Mixed Up” is? Or are they just examples.
I’m starting to think we will just see the top 12 figures and nothing more mixed up. It makes sense because that would mean there is a full set in each case and they don’t have to worry about numbers. However, this means that most people will see these mixed up robots and think they are the designs. Do these become the official designs, or are the unmixed figures the right designs? How do we name them? How do we trade them? Piece-meal?
What do you think about this? Does anyone know for sure the answers? Let us know.
Most importantly, would any of these count for Combo Contest #3?????
