First Look At “Star Wars Rebels” Characters For Disney Infinity 3.0

The announcement of  “Star Wars” coming to Disney Infinity 3.0 made many Star Wars fans very happy. We have seen characters announced from both “The Original Trilogy” and “The Prequels” but it turns out that the Disney Infinity Team wasn’t quite done.  Now the newest group of Star Wars characters to join Disney Infinity 3.0 is from the hit Disney XD series, “Star Wars Rebels.”

“Star Wars Rebels was decided really early on,” Lucasfilm’s brand creative director Hez Chorba tells StarWars.com. “It’s an important part of the saga and our entire team is proud of the stories being told in the series. That’s when we got to, ‘We need these characters.’” The Star Wars Rebels characters that are making the jump to Disney Infinity action-figure form include Jedi-with-a-secret-past Kanan, Jedi-to-be Ezra, hot-headed alien Zeb, and explosives expert/graffiti artist Sabine. There’s more to adapting them to this line of toys, however, than one might think. A lot more.

The addition of Star Wars Rebels to Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition — and the care taken with that addition — illustrates just how important the series and its characters are to the Star Wars universe. In the game and in figure form, Sabine, Zeb, Ezra, and Kanan stand proudly with the galaxy’s most popular icons. “I’m super excited that we’re doing Rebels justice, the right way,” Chorba says. “We’re only expanding on something already great.” This is not the last stop in a galaxy far, far away for Disney Infinity, though. Quite the opposite.

“The cool thing is,” Bunker says, “there’s a lot coming down the road. I just want to ride the wave.”

PIXAR Reveals The Voice Cast For “The Good Dinosaur”

Disney/Pixar’s upcoming movie “The Good Dinosaur” revealed its roster of voice talent.

“We were lucky to work with a number of incredible pros along the way and our story ultimately led us to this amazing and talented group,” said the first-time-feature-film director Peter Sohn. “We’re all taking this journey with Arlo, and it’s been a privilege to see these performers bring our characters to life.”

Once Upon a Toy at Downtown Disney also has one of the new machines featuring Frozen designs. There has been no word if Disney will do away with the old style machines eventually, but it is a real possibility.

Tokyo DisneySea 15th Anniversary “The Year of Wishes” Announced

OLC has announced their plans for the 15th Anniversary of Tokyo DisneySea called “The Year of Wishes“. Which starts April 15th, 2016 through March 17, 2017. A number of items have been confirmed:

  • Brand new harbor show named “Crystal Wishes Journey“
  • Big Band Beat will received updated music, costumes, and scenes. A first for the show since it debuted in 2006
  • A new projection show will debut in the Hangar Stage in Lost River Delta in mid-2016

During the event, crystals of various colors symbolizing individual wishes will decorate the Park. The crystals will even sparkle on the Disney characters’ costumes and merchandise, creating an atmosphere of hope and dreams throughout the Park.

USA Today has provided is with a special sneak preview of Disney’s animated movie “Zootopia.”

Jason Bateman provides the voice of a con artist fox named Nick Wild and Ginnifer Goodwin is the voice of a rookie rabbit cop named Judy Hopps.

From USA Today:

Zootopia is ultimately a story of two animals “who would naturally never hang out or like one another in the beginning, but over the course of the movie develop a relationship and become friends,” says Rich Moore (Wreck-It Ralph), who co-directs the film with Byron Howard (Tangled).

Epcot FROZEN Ride Concept Art and Details Released, To Be Called “Frozen Ever After”

Walt Disney World has released the first concept art for the upcoming FROZEN attraction at Epcot, which will be called “Frozen Ever After”.

The Wall Street Journal today released exclusive information about the project.

Despite many pictures and reports of demolition inside the Maelstrom attraction, the flume has been preserved (and possible the boat vehicles) and it appears the ride will follow the same path, but with all-new scenes featuring audio-animatronics utilizing technological advances seen in such attractions as the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train in New Fantasyland.

The attraction is set in the summer in Arendelle, taking guests past familiar venues in the queue, such as Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post.

The ride begins with Sven and Olaf preparing for a festival before the trolls appear to tell the story of how Anna and Kristof met. Olaf will then appear to sing and ice skating with Anna, Kristof, and Sven.

Guests will then barge into Elsa’s icy palace, where they will see her singing “Let It Go” as the boat changes course and begins to travel backwards. Marshmallow the snow-monster and the “Snowgies” who appear in the “Frozen Fever” short will join in the singing as guests plunge into the finale with Elsa, Anna, Olaf, Sven and Kristof saying goodbye.

“Frozen Ever After” is set to open in May 2016 in the Norway pavilion at Epcot along with a new FROZEN meet and greet pavilion.

Tentative Opening Date Announced for Epcot’s FROZEN Attraction

In October 2014, Maelstrom in Norway at Epcot closed for conversion into a FROZEN-themed attraction. Disney had previously stated that the new ride based on the blockbuster animated hit from 2013 would be finished by Early 2016, but they are now providing a more definite date.

According to information being distributed to Disney travel agents, the FROZEN attraction will tentatively open on May 1st, 2016. This date may change, but Disney is clearly aiming to have the new ride open to guests for Summer 2016.
