Disney Animation Announces Jack and the Beanstalk Film “”Gigantic””

Things are looking up at Walt Disney Animation Studios – way up. “Gigantic,” Disney’s unique take on “Jack and the Beanstalk,” will feature music from Oscar-winning songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, who greeted D23 EXPO fans in signature style—in song—alongside director Nathan Greno (“Tangled”) and producer Dorothy McKim (“Get A Horse!”). Set in Spain during the Age of Exploration, Disney’s “Gigantic” follows adventure-seeker Jack as he discovers a world of giants hidden within the clouds. He hatches a grand plan with Inma, a 60-foot-tall, 11-year-old girl, and agrees to help her find her way home. But he doesn’t account for her super-sized personality—and who knew giants were so down to earth? “Gigantic” hits theaters in 2018.

D23 Expo 2015: “”Toy Story 4″ To Be A Love Story Between Woody And Bo-Peep

While talking with CNBC at the D23 Expo, John Lasseter confirmed that the story for “Toy Story 4″ will focus on a romance between Woody and Bo Peep.

Lasseter told CNBC:

“It’s a love story with Woody and—and this is news—Bo Peep. At Pixar and at Disney, we only make sequels if we come up with a story that’s as good or better than the original. That’s our rule. We don’t do things just to print money,”

“Toy Story 4″ will hit theaters on June 16, 2017.

Rumor: “Darth Vader” To Appear In “Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One”

According to BadassDigest.com, Darth Vader will make an appearance in the upcoming Star Wars spinoff movie, “Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One”. This has not been officially confirmed from Disney or Lucasfilm, but it sure makes sense.

“Rogue One” is a prequel (sorry for saying that word) to “Star Wars: A New Hope” and if the main story is about a group of heroes trying to steal the plans for the Death Star, I am sure that Darth Vader will somehow play a part in the movie. Hopefully Darth Vader will have a bigger role than just a holo projection image but for now we’ll just have to wait until December 16, 2016 when “Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One” opens to find out.

From Badass Digest:

Hopefully this weekend at Comic-Con we will get some more information about the film, but in the meantime I have a tiny tidbit to share. I ran into a good source this past weekend and, over drinks, was told a nugget that should make people pretty intrigued: Darth Vader will be in Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One. He will not be the main antagonist but he will be working behind the scenes, pulling strings and will appear onscreen. Literally, I’m told – he’ll be showing up via viewscreen or holo projection or something. Will our heroes actually run into the Dark Lord of the Sith in person? My source wouldn’t say. My source was also mum about Grand Moff Tarkin, who was of course the commander of the fully operational Death Star.

Star-Wars-the-Force-Awakens

For those looking forward to a new trailer or behind the scenes footage for “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” at this week’s D23, you may have to wait a little longer. Entertainment Weekly has just informed us that there will be no new trailer or new footage and has also revealed that their source was “The Force Awakens” director, J.J. Abrams:

Whatever revelations may be in store at the Anaheim fan gathering will not involve seeing sections of the movie. For doubters, I may as well reveal that “reliable source”…

“It is true, we are showing no footage, behind the scenes or otherwise,” director J.J. Abrams tells EW. “In the fall, there’ll be a trailer.”

He knows fans are eager for another look at the film and promises to bring something compelling to the Disney conventioneers. “We’re thrilled to go to D23 and meet the fans, but it’s a tricky thing to try and rush [footage] for a convention or preexisting event that would, of course, be fun to show something at,” he said.
