Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort is about to begin, and we’ve “unearthed” a comprehensive rundown of the treats that will be served at both parks this year, including ghoulishly themed offerings for Haul-loween in Cars Land and Guardians of the Galaxy: Monsters After Dark at California Adventure!

HALLOWEEN TIME AT THE DISNEYLAND RESORT (ANAHEIM, Calif.) A Mickey Mouse-inspired jack-o-lantern on Main Street, U.S.A., celebrates the spirit of the Halloween season at Disneyland Park. Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort returns from Sept. 15 through Oct. 31, 2017 with spooky seasonal décor, themed food and beverage offerings and attractions that get a seasonal overlay for Halloween. Along Buena Vista Street, guests will enjoy Halloween decorations in store windows and in Carthay Circle, they’ll see a new 10-foot-tall statue of the Headless Horseman himself, holding up his jack-o’-lantern head to the sky. PHOTOS: Lightning McQueen and Mater Debut Haul-O-Ween Costumes at California Adventure

CARS LAND HAUL-O-WEEN – Everyone’s favorite Cars characters have transformed Radiator Springs into their own Haul-O-Ween celebration during Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort. For the first time, the Cars characters will be donning their Halloween “car-stumes” as they greet guests and prepare to go “trunk-or-treating.” Mater will be wearing his vampire or “van-pire” outfit, while Lightning McQueen is dressed as a super hero. Haul-O-Ween is coming to Cars Land at Disney California Adventure and the residents of Radiator Springs are getting into the spirit, decorating each of their establishments and even dressing up in their own car-stumes! As seen above, Lightning McQueen is already a super hero to race fans, and his car-stume reflects that. Here he is next to the scare-car, which makes its Haul-O-Ween debut this year.

Mater may not have a trunk, but that won’t stop him from trunk-or-treating in his vampire costume.

VIDEO: Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark Debuts for HalloweenTime at Disneyland Resort

Last night, Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark debuted at Disney California Adventure. The ride is a Halloween holiday overlay of Mission Breakout, which opened at the resort in May and is still available to guests during the day. Starting at 6pm, guests can experience this new ride instead, a sequel to the daytime version.

Overall, Monsters After Dark is a really fun overlay that basically gives you a seventh (yeah, seventh) ride profile for the attraction. The completely unique pre-shows and lighting make this more special and the fact that it is a seamless sequel to the daytime version is sheer brilliance. The song during the ride is a little silly as it feels pretty basic and just had the lyrics “Monsters After Dark” over and over again, but this overlay will undoubtedly be enjoyed just as much as the daytime version.

Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark is now open from 6pm to park close nightly during HalloweenTime at the Disneyland Resort.

Disneyland Resort Adding 455 Parking Spaces, Eastern Gateway Is Delayed

Located on the Southeast corner of the Toy Story Lot is the new expansion lot

In anticipation of the large crowds Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge will be bringing to the Disneyland Resort, the Anaheim Planning Commission agreed to allow Disneyland to add an additional 455 parking spots to the Toy Story Lot located off Harbor Blvd. This will bring the total number of parking spots to 5,378.

According to the Orange County Register,

As part of the agreement with the city, Disneyland will replace 6-foot walls separating the parking area from nearby apartment complexes with a 16-foot-tall, sound wall made of masonry blocks and will landscape with rows of Canary Island Pine trees. Disney plans to add new lighting for the parking lot and a ramp that would connect to its tram depot.

The extra space at the southeastern corner of the parking lot will serve only as an overflow parking area, otherwise it will continue to be used as a storm water detention basin. On the days it rains, guests will not be allowed to park in that section.

This news comes not long after the planned Eastern Gateway project was put on hold due to concerns from neighboring businesses and hotels. That plan was vital to preparing the Resort for the crowds expected, but now it is unclear as to when that infrastructure might be built.

Disney MaxPass, Paid FastPass Service at Disneyland Resort, Officially Launches Next Week

Disney MaxPass, the paid FastPass service announced back in January, will officially launch next week through the official Disneyland mobile application.

Starting on or around July 19th, guests will be able to add MaxPass onto their park tickets through the app, allowing for digital FASTPASS return times and unlimited Disney PhotoPass photo downloads.

In January, Disney stated that the cost would be $10 per day, but there will also be an annual charge available for annual passholders. No pricing or other info is available at this time.
