Our latest photo report brings us to the Magic Kingdom on the verge of what is expected to be one of the busiest holiday seasons in its entire history. Let’s see what’s new and exciting around the park, shall we?
Welcome to the Magic Kingdom
An advertisement for Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs 80th anniversary can be found outside of the park.
This Chip and Dale plush set with them hiding under an ear hat is just about the cutest thing I have ever seen.
Clubbin’
Work continues on the new Club 33 location for the Magic Kingdom in the Adventureland.
This and That
Several new MagicBands were recently released.
Tick… tock… tick… tock…
SURPRISE! The sushi is already gone from the Cool Ship in Tomorrowland.
D-Tech on Demand in Tomorrowland now offers some Space Mountain phone cases you won’t find anywhere else.
They also have designs for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.
The Dress Shop items have moved into Uptown Jewelers now, which makes marginally more sense than the House of Magic.
It hasn’t been the most pleasant week here…
Farewell Fountain
The beloved fountain near First Aid on Main Street has been removed and paved over, likely to clear a path for an exit bypass that will be used during the busy holiday weeks at the park.
I’m curious to see if it returns…
Mousecellaneous
The Mickey Mouse Ray-Bans are in stock at the Sunglass Hut in Adventureland.
To advertise the arrival, the location has a giant pair of the glasses… They wouldn’t let me try them on…
Yup, it has been cold.
Rose Gold mouse ears are plentiful in every park at the moment.
Minnie’s Bake Shop has been rebranded as Minnie’s Sweets, with several items repackaged and some new items introduced.
Two new MagicBand 2 colors will soon be joining the recently released solid-color black MagicBand.
The first new color is brown, and will debut as a background for a new design featuring the Seven Dwarfs from “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.” All seven dwarfs (Bashful, Doc, Dopey, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, and Sneezy) will be on the MagicBand along with diamonds they dug from their mine.
This new MagicBand design retails for $22.99 and went on sale on December 18th.
The second new color is a solid-color millennial pink and is being described as “the fashion-forward, trendy shade of pink that continues to grow in popularity.” This delicate, softer pink MagicBand is a great compliment to the popular rose-gold Minnie Ears.
Debuting on January 8th, the solid-color millennial pink MagicBand will retail for $12.99.
A smaller version of The Dress Shop has opened towards Casey’s Corner. Many of the dresses, purses, and more from the Disney Springs shop can be found here now.
For some reason, this limited release shirt from ShopDisney is being sold in the parks concurrently. The location makes sense as this space was the House of Magic many years ago. Hopefully, more limited release shirts like this get released at the parks as well. Sadly, the matching MagicBand is online only.
The more confusing part is putting the shirt in a window that’s currently boarded up and no one can see…
Even though a few parties remain, any guest at the Magic Kingdom can now buy select items from the event.
As I said last year, I don’t agree with this. At least wait for the last party to end or send it to the outlets. It takes away one of the parks of the very expensive party ticket.
The Club That’s Made Not for You and Me
As we reported over the weekend, work has begun on what will likely be the Club 33 locations for the Magic Kingdom, the remainder of the old Adventureland Veranda.
The path into Adventureland is quite narrow right now due to the work.
Some are speculating that this work is actually for a permanent Moana meet and greet, but it seems way too extensive for something so minor.
Giant sections of awning that have been there since the 70’s have been removed. This wouldn’t be necessary for a meet and greet and could have been kept.
With a little tree clearing, the patio would offer some unique fireworks views for Club 33 guests.
This and That
All of the trees between Be Our Guest Restaurant and the village had to be removed due to hurricane damage.
In fairness, it doesn’t look terrible since all of the walls the trees covered are well-themed.
We’re still hoping they plant some new trees, at least to cover this speaker tower.
Work continues on the outdoor covered seating area at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe. Should open very soon.
Pecos Bill’s has added an menu with pictures… it’s a window cling.
Splash Mountain is still closed for refurbishment.
Some new holiday plush for sale. Goofy’s sweater features bulbs that actually light up.
You can get the blown-glass Monorail ornament personalized at Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe.
For some reason, they have a Haunted Mansion merchandise cart out in front of the store selling accessories. I suppose this is to capitalize on Halloween Party guests.
Princess ApparelÂ
A number of new Princess items were released recently, including this Snow White line.

DisneyStore.com has just released five new MagicBands featuring Marvel characters ahead of their imminent release at Walt Disney World.
These are open edition MagicBand 2, so they are available at the $22.99 price point. This collection features Black Widow, Captain America, Iron Man, Spider-Man, and Thor.
It is unclear if these will ever be sold in a park, but we expect to see them at Disney Springs and resort shops soon.
DisneyStore.com has released this month’s shirts in the YesterEars collection, which will be available until August 3rd. There is also a Limited Availability MagicBand 2 this month!
The Big Thunder Mountain Railroad shirt is short sleeve, with a heathered jersey knit and contrast crew neck and cuffs. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad opened at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom on November 15, 1980. There is also an orange MagicBand2 available sporting the same vintage artwork.
The SeaBase Alpha shirt is yellow and sports the original “SeaBase Alpha” logo with the “Future World” tag below.
The Mickey’s Starland shirt sports the original logo, proclaiming it as “The Magical Home of Mickey and Friends,” on a blue tee.
The shirts have the Mickey Mouse YesterEars logo on the back, and the MagicBand also has the YesterEars logo on the opposite side. The shirts and the MagicBand are priced at $27.99, with the Buy One, Get One 40% Off deal still applicable.
A Walk in the Park by Dooney & Bourke is now available to purchase both online and in the parks. The print is available in a tote, cross body, satchel and even a MagicBand 2.0.
The new print is described as:

With the opening of Pandora: The World of AVATAR this Saturday, Disney will release 3 new MagicBand 2 designs.
For Annual Passholders, there will be the first-ever Passholder exclusive limited edition teal graphic band featuring the phrase “I traveled to Pandora on May 27, 2017.” This band, available opening day, retails at $32.99.
The purple limited-edition graphic band with scenes from nighttime in Pandora (pictured above), features the artwork of Dylan Cole, co-production designer for the upcoming “Avatar” motion picture sequels. The band retails for $32.99 and was already made available online and at Riverside Depot at Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park.
And for Avatar fans looking to coordinate their MagicBand with other cool Na’vi merchandise, check out the blue graphic band representing the Na’vi pattern. This band retails for $22.99 and will make any Avatar feel like a Na’vi.
These new bands will be sold in Windtraders on Pandora – The World of Avatar.
Our latest photo report brings us to Disney’s Hollywood Studios in the midst of Disney’s Hollywood Studios appreciation week for a look around at what’s new and exciting in tinsel town. Ready when you are C.B.!
Hooray for Hollywood
Streetmosphere characters Mayor Sonny Burbank and Evie Starlight welcome guests to the park.
Officer Percival Peabody of the Hollywood Police Department also ensures that guests walk, and not run to their first destination.
Happy 28th Anniversary
On May 1st 2017, Disney’s Hollywood Studios celebrated its 28th birthday!
The park of course opened as the Disney-MGM Studios in 1989, changing its name in Early 2008.
For whatever reason, the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival MagicBand is now available at the Studios.
A number of older designs have been updated for the MagicBand 2, some even using the new white and black band base colors.
Star Wars Launch Bay
40th anniversary banners remain outside of Star Wars Launch Bay.
Wait times for the character meet and greets have been short lately. Chewbacca was posted as 20 minutes.
Only 15 for Kylo Ren.
Even the new BB-8 meet and greet has had short wait times.
That sadly hasn’t stopped guests from destroying the walls…
It’s a pretty cute meet and greet experience if you haven’t seen it yet:
New designs celebrating the 40th anniversary of Star Wars can be found at the D-Tech on Demand location inside of Star Wars Launch Bay.
Skywalker Vineyards wines are also available now. We actually bought a bottle and tried the new flight at the Brown Derby, so we will dedicate a post to this in the coming days.
PIXAR Displaced
Work continues on the Star Wars and Toy Story themed lands.
This barrier for Star Wars land continues to rise over the walls.
A peek through the walls at the beginning of PIXAR Place reveals the current state of Toy Story Land.
There appears to be a structure of some kind being erected in the middle of the Slinky Dog Dash rollercoaster now.
It appears that the coaster will barrel through it, whatever it is.
These pics from a few days later show some progress on the walls going up at the other end of PIXAR Place.
Pirates of the Caribbean: One Man’s Dream
The Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales preview has moved in at Walt Disney: One Man’s Dream.
The Moana meet and greet recently closed inside, leaving us to believe that the Star Lord and Groot meet and greet coming will be located here.
The exit is currently boarded up as well.
A costume worn by Javier Bardem in Dead Men Tell No Tales is now on display.
The preview is quite good, leading me to believe we might just be returning to form in the series.
New York Street Lives!
It is now certain that this lone standing section of New York Street will remain as modifications are being made to the structure.
Meanwhile, Star Wars Land rises next door.
Not only are the facades being touched up, but new elements are being added.
A new awning was installed at the end of the street.
With much of the original signage stripped, it will be interesting to see what becomes of this area.
The former Writer’s Stop lies behind walls, amidst rumors that this may be the Club 33 location for Disney’s Hollywood Studios. How cool would it be to either here through a facade on New York Street?
Star Tours
No trip to Hollywood Studios is complete without a ride on Star Tours.
In Tatooine Traders, a number of new items can be found.
We recently noticed that a brand new line up Magicband 2.0 and accessories have at last arrived to the DisneyStore.com! We know many of you have been asking when you can order these new MagicBands, well the time is now!
