Signed Urban Redux 2 Figure Surfaces

Vinylmation Kingdom got word from a member on Vinylmation Exchange, Jenna Stevan, that Urban Redux 2 will also have blind boxed signed figures.  This is in similar style to Urban Redux 1, where signed figures from the artists could be found in lucky blind boxes.  Take a look at the figure below, which is Cyber Girl signed by Maria Clapsis:

Still no word yet on any “Super Chasers” from this series, but it is cool to see that Disney is keeping up with this trend of signed figures.

Blathering Blatherskite!

Wow this has been a great week for Vinylmation and a great year for Ducktales. A little while back Campcom said it would be releasing a HD version of the classic game “Ducktales”, and now Disney Afternoons is back and the first set of series 2 is Ducktales!

I think I asked for it a long time ago, but today Disney announced that the set will include two figures- GizmoDuck and his mild manner self, Fenton Crackshell. Look at that shark fin on his head, how cool is that?

Another great announcement from Disney, and one I know a lot of people are excited about. For some people the original Disney Afternoons sets were the last time they got excited for a new Vinylmation set. According to Disney the price has raised to $19.99 and there LE was raised to 1500 (But that seems about right number of figures at the moment.) This set will come out at D-Streets and online on July 19th. And look, Maria Clapsis is the artist, which is also cool!

What do you think about this? Will this get you to stand in line?

Episode 121 Tom Morrow Chaser

Ep. 121 Tom Morrow Chaser

A long, long time ago. In a galaxy far, far away. Two intrepid podcasters set out to broadcast the news of Vinylmation to all known lands. They had on board a set of Star Wars series 3 to review and even talked to one of the set’s designers, Maria Clapsis. They encountered other special guests as well. But not all went as planned…

Jr. 8 Goofy’s Candy Co. Explained

Jr. 8 Goofy’s Candy Co. Explained

Release Date: April 12 (Facebook Store), April 19 (D-Streets)
$9.95
Maria Clapsis and Thomas Scott
Designs are based on Disney’s consumable line.

Update 04/18/13 The Disney Merchandise Blog posted the two chasers from the Goofy’s Candy Co. Jr. 8 series.

One is the official Goofy’s Candy Co. logo in the head with Goofy’s signature laugh “Gawrsh!” written all over the body. The other chaser is Goofy, looking goofy and apparently sweating.

Today we got a look at the rest of the non chasers from this line. Here are the Disney turnarounds for them.

I think they are doing a good job with the clear parts of this set. I know there are a lot of similar ones, but I think they work well for the set (unless they could have found a way to actually stick a stick inside one).

I love how if you are to search for “Gummy Bears Vinylmation” in the future, this is what you’ll get. MC thinks this is probably the best one from this set.

Interesting note on this one. When we saw it at Mickey’s Circus it has green on some of the stars. I wonder if that will be a variant, or just an early design?

Here are the pictures from Mickey’s Circus back in September of 2012.

Independence Day 2013 Eagle

We got a sneak peek at this one a while back, but we now see the turnaround of the Independence Day 2013 Eagle designed by Maria Clapsis. Like most holiday event vinyls, it does not have an official LE size, but these really do vary in production size. Some stay in stores for months, some sell out before holiday the celebrate. This on will release on June 7th and retail for $14.95.

A few wonderful aspects here, let’s start at the top. The old school flag in the ears with the circle of 13 stars and there are actually 13 stripes!!!! The eyes look stoic. The beak looks almost 3D. The feathering on the body and head is amazing detail. The the talons on the feet… wow.

Animation 4 Combo Topper Revealed

Today, Vinylmation.com posted a story revealing the combo topper for the upcoming Animation 4 series.  Take a look at the design below:

It’s King Louie from The Jungle Book!! This figure was designed by Maria Clapsis, and will be available both online and at parks for $24.95.  It is also important to note that these will be released December 20th, a week after A4 hits shelves.  What do you guys think of this topper? I think he looks great, and it is cool to see the Animation series featuring trends, as we got Baloo in Animation 2 and Mowgli in series 3.  But I have to ask, where is Three Caballeros Donald?!?! Hopefully in Animation 5…? Also, don’t we have a Jungle Book series coming out?

WDW Marathon Vinylmation Release Detail Updates

From the Disney Parks Blog, here is the first image of the 3″ Run Disney figure with one of the WDW Marathon mini medals.

I love it! I can not wait to own one of these with my rather large finishing time written on the back. There have been some changes/clarifications in the release info. The 3″ figure ($12.95) and mini medals ($1.95) will be available at the Clubhouse Store at ESPN’s Wide World of Sports Complex beginning on Thursday, January 10th.

The figure (and I’d assume the medals, but not specifically stated by Disney) will then be available at D-Street on Sunday, January 13th. There is also a signing at D-Street on Sunday after the race with Maria Clapsis from 5-7pm. In Anaheim, the release date for the 3″ figure has been changed to January 18th. These specific mini medals are not set for release in California, but I would be surprised if we did not see a similar idea for the west coast races.

Diving for Eagles

Someone over at eBay must have had some time on his hands. And a pair of coveralls. It looks like we have another dumpster dive find. And while this one looks better then most, we still caution anyone from ever purchasing these “finds”.

Now for the interesting part. It looks like Maria Clapsis is at it again with a great looking holiday figure. It seems like these regular figures are the reason we no longer see new editions of Holiday series. Labeled “Independence Day 2013”, this piece looks perfect. I am totally going to get my dad one. I also enjoy the old school flag in the ears, one star for each of the original states in the union. Interesting fact: Did you know that originally when a state was added they added both a star AND a stripe. That got to be too much so they nixed the stripes, and just continued with the stars. We expect to see this in stores late May or early June, but that’s just our speculation.

What do you think of this figure?
